HarpThe study of harp is a wonderful experience for those who choose it.
Yes, one must be prepared to transport a rather unwieldy instrument,
but the advantages often outweigh the inconvenience. Harp music is very
similar to piano music, and a couple of years of piano lessons are required
before one begins harp lessons. The pitches on the harp are distinguished
by the color of the various strings. Small harps are available for small
students as they begin. A good harpist can often “write his own
ticket” for professional engagements, since harpists are rather
few in number. There is a wonderful fellowship among harpists (they
all seem to know each other) and harps are generally not difficult to
find when an active harpist is contacted for assistance.
