Jazz PianoStudents of jazz piano learn the same basics of piano that traditional
lessons entail (note-reading, rhythm, theory and musicianship). In addition,
these students can concentrate on the complexities of jazz rhythms,
chord structure, progressions, and improvisation techniques. Many middle
schools and high schools have jazz bands/ensembles, and they generally
need a good jazz pianist or two to play with the wind and brass instruments.
